      Quick tab setup for vBulletin 4.2

      I believe I know how to make a tab in vBulletin 4.2 for VaultWiki, but would like someone to clarify.

      Here are the choices for building a Tab:

      Active: Yes
      Product: VaultWiki
      Title: Wiki
      Target URL: showwiki.php{session.sessionurl_q}
      Display Order: 50
      Show Permission Name: (blank)
      Append 'tabid' to URL (No)
      Tab Script(s): (Blank)

      So what am I missing?

      My current Wiki tab works by taking the user to the assigned URL, but it doesn't highlight my Wiki tab when it's clicked on, rather the Forum tab remains selected.

      vBulletin 4.2 and VaultWiki 3.0.19.

      Thanks!

      VaultWiki automatically creates tabs in vBulletin 4.2. You don't need to do it yourself. If you upgraded to vBulletin 4.2 after installing VaultWiki 3.0.19, run the VaultWiki upgrade script to get your tabs.

      Is there a preferred way of adding navbar buttons linking to specific wiki pages? I added a button with URL containing something like "showwiki.php?title=XXX" and "Append tabid" set to yes. Now the button becomes selected and properly displays the wiki page, but the navbar submenu is empty. Is there a better way or would I need to define the submenu manually for each such button? Thanks.

      Until vBulletin improves the system to allow multiple parent tabs for sub-menus, you need to define the sub-menu manually for each button.

      I need some help to get all of the admin links such as adding a photo page, Special pages etc.

      The new 4.2 has removed all the sub links from my tab.

      Did you have a custom tab originally? If not, you should just run the VaultWiki upgrade script after you upgraded vBulletin to 4.2.

      I had a custom tab, and it didn't upgrade. I tried resetting it and trying the upgrade again, with no luck. I sent a PM about it, but I thought here might be better.

      If you're referring to the white page, try adding this line after the copyright block in showwiki.php and post any results:
      Code:
      @ini_set('display_errors', 1);

      I'll post it here: I run vW on vB4.20

      I want to have a test-wiki accessible only for an speific group. And a Template space for them.

      The other members, not registered visitors, and crawlers shoud go to an index page until we develop a more robust content with books, other wikis, etc. Perhaps they should see the list of articles of the main wiki, but not the testwiki.

      ¿There is a solution for this?

      You can have a Test-wiki namespace or just a sub-forum, depending on your needs. Just adjust usergroup permissions so only your group can see the sub-forum. As for templates, you would create a sub-forum in your template namespace with similar permissions.

      You can define an index page in Settings > Options > VaultWiki: Server Settings > Replace Wiki Tab with URL.
