    2. Protect Articles from Further Changes

This page is a chapter in VW4 User Manual
The Protect tab allows users with permission to "protect/unprotect" wiki articles to prevent various kinds of changes to the article. Depending on what other tabs are visible, Protect might be its own tab or appear under the "Options" menu.

Clicking the Protect tab will open the form where you can select what kind of protection to apply:
    • None - The article can be modified normally.
    • Move/Rename Prevention - The article cannot be moved to another wiki area and its title cannot be changed, unless the user can also remove this prevention.
    • Edit Prevention - The article cannot be edited, moved, or renamed, unless the user can also remove this prevention.
    • Admins-only Protection - The article can only be edited, moved, or renamed by admininstators. Only administrators can remove this protection.
    • Collaboration Prevention - Only the original author of the article and any users they allow can make changes to the article.

Administrators can also set a rule that all newly-created articles automatically receive some form of protection via the wiki Admin Panel.
