ok that means i have no problem with my vbulletin 4.1.10 to use vaultwiki 4 - with the editor you mean the changed CKeditor?

Images are currently broken (image file types aren't flagged correctly), category membership is missing, some options are still not showing up in the editor, and there are a few other minor things here and there... but the wiki is now turned on for users to check out and start testing.

vaultwiki 4

pegasus thanks for the great job - looks really good with the changed style - it doesnt look like a normal forum style

when is this vaultwiki 4 (it is beta status now or RC ?) ready for testing on the own server ?
as well is the sitemap addon for vbseo also working with the vw4?

when i buy the product now - then i get also access to the vaultwiki 4 when its ready for download?

Thanks :)

I'm glad you like the style. We tried not to change it too much that people wouldn't recognize it, but at the same time we wanted to update it and give it a slightly cleaner look. There are still some cross-browser issues that need to be fixed since modern browsers have now added support for CSS-3 properties and deprecated transitional properties.

VaultWiki 4 is still Alpha status for now. Any addons for VaultWiki will have to be completely rewritten for VaultWiki 4 or they won't work and will probably give your site serious errors. This includes the sitemap addon. A new version will have to be released, if it is needed at all.

Yes, if you buy the product now you would get access to VaultWiki 4 as well. VaultWiki 4 is still alpha status from our perspective.

More generally, on the 25th I will have to create a blog entry about everything users should really do when upgrading to VaultWiki 4. A script can only do so much, and there are many other things that need to be considered and catered for. Keep an eye out for it.

thanks for your detailed answer - the style is good but from time to time it makes sense to change there also something more or give the product a touch of more moderne style - also the pull down menus are good to decide if you want to add a articel or a book as well with the "+"

can you have a look to my user rights here in the board because i can not test for example cateogries, books - i get an error that i dont have access :(

for me is sitemap addon very important to bring everything clear to google index

when vault wiki 4 is allready alpha status now that makes sense with the changes and some issues - but thats okay - vbulletin is in alpha status much more buggy or kills your server as well :D

do you give the current vw 4 alpha realease also to customers download for testing or just for alpha testers ?

Have you decided if VW 4 will cost the same as 3, and if that license will be platform specific yet?
We will be making a post under the News tab when VaultWiki 4 becomes available as a download that will discuss concerns like this.

Thanks for letting me know about the permissions. I think they should be fixed now. If not, please paste the URL you are trying into a PM to me.

The current Alpha release, when it gets posted for download, will be for everyone.

If you buy it now, you will have access to the XF version when it becomes available. VaultWiki 4 is not yet available (for any forums) for public download. To be fair to users who might purchase before availability (and others in general), we should change the license expiry so that it's set 1 year from first download, rather than 1 year from purchase: https://www.vaultwiki.org/issues/2935/

Also, the editor missing from CMS pages is now fixed. That was an extremely rare and untraceable VaultWiki bug, so thanks for helping us catch it.

i think this will take much time - the major step at the moment for the team is to get vb4 working for vbulletin which is just alpha at the moment

VaultWiki 4 is zipped and awaiting final approval for release. Pending announcement, I suspect it might be available Monday or another day early next week.

Yes, while the vB4 release is being tested publicly, on our end we need to:
  • Port the ~150 templates to vBulletin 3 format
  • Debug some systems that have been written exclusively for vB3, like a dedicated wiki search engine
  • Ensure that the non-ck editor still works and that all the buttons have the same functionality

vB4 is a major brand yes but IPB is right near them in the way of boards. Will IPB be soon? It been a wanted thing from the start and well it been a long time going.

There is no heat or hot water in our building today. Since additional water damage and plumbing must now be repaired, I'm not sure Alpha 1 can be released this week.
