      VW4 Headers

I'm a little lost on how Headers work in VW4. (Sorry if I missed something by searching, I couldn't find anything)

Basically, what I'd like to do is establish a wiki header over a forum. But I'm not sure how this works or what I'm doing wrong.

I see in Forum Manager the "Wiki Options" on a Forum. I apply one of the "Yes" values to "Allow Content Integration", but once set nothing seems to happen. I go to that forum and I see nothing different? No header, no options in any menu, etc?

      Have I missed something?

Once "Allow Content Integration" is turned on, there should be a bar at the top of the forum that says:

"You can place wiki content at the top of this page. Click 'Manage' to select a wiki page to display or to create a new one for this location."

If you cannot see this, make sure you are using the vB Default Style. If you still cannot see it, please let me know what Wiki URL Format you're using, as it might have an effect.

      Here's the situation.

For a particular forum, I have "Alllow Content Integration" switched to "Yes, any...".

I go to that particular forum, and I see no such a bar at the top as you describe?

I wonder, could this be due to a modification I'd previously wedged in, a little code to the template, FORUMDISPLAY, just under where "{vb:raw navbar}" is? (To introduce my own sort of "over-the-forum" preamble display, in this case)

I realized after my last post, that the entire Integration system might be disabled on your install. You can enable it by going to Settings > Miscellaneous > Allow Wiki Content Integration.

The integration wedges into the header/navbar template, depending on your style. If the content of these templates seriously deviate from the default contents, it is possible the template location is not found.

You can see the code it searches for here: vault/core/view/ui/integrate/vb3.php

Um I see no global such setting. I find it within a particular Area's settings, per Area, and, again I have them all checked to "Yes".

For reference, I am running vBulletin 4.2.2 and VW4 gamma 4

      Thanks, I'll look there.

I'm still quite lost ,here... Any help would be really great; using headers would be a huge value-add for my forum, but I can't seem to get them to appear in any way?

      So.

I don't see any such a setting "Settings->Misc->Allow Wiki Content Integration"?

I am using the default style in vB.

I have checked "Alllow Content Integration" to "Yes" in a forum, but I see nothing when I go there? No bar across the top, as expected, allowing me to configure the wiki header?

For context: I recently re-installed from scratch with VW4 Gamma 5, Build 005.

Oh, you asked what wiki URL format I'm using. I missed that above, sorry.
      I'm using "/wiki_index.php?title=Prefix:Article"

I am also lost on Vaultwiki headers. I can not find where in admincp I can control its behavior. How do I turn wiki headers off for specific content types? For example: i dont want wiki headers on profiles. How do I turn it off there?

It would be very useful to be able to search admin panel for 'headers' so that we can easily find the available options.

The setting appears under Settings > Miscellaneous. It's the second setting, the one before it is "Usergroup for Wiki Moderators".

This is the full text of the setting if you need to search for it:
      "Allow Wiki Content Integration
Wiki content can be placed in headers on other pages than where the original content was posted. This applies site-wide in both wiki and non-wiki areas of the site. It can be fine-tuned using other settings. Note that this will add at least 1 query on every page where wiki integration is permitted."

I just confirmed that the phrases for this setting are in fact missing on new vBulletin-based installations. You can force a value by modifying vault/core/model/settings/vb3.php. Find:
      Code:
      protected $store = array();
      Add after:
      Code:
      public function __construct() { $this->set('vw_integrate', true); }
@Alfa1, please request that we change the global Yes/No to checkboxes that automatically have available content-types as choices.

Thanks for the insight, pegasus, but I don't see, and I have never seen (as in: not on Gamma 4, either) any such a setting.

      My Settings->Misc goes like this:

      Usergroup for Wiki Moderators
      *
Enable Support for Legacy Wiki Syntax
      Publish Wiki Content to Facebook
Show Wiki Statistics on Forum Home?
      Enable Wiki Sidebar?
Use Forum Tagging for Wiki Pages?

      * is where I'm expecting to find "Allow Wiki Content Integration", according to what you say(?), but it isn't there (nor, again, has it ever been)? There's nothing, it goes right from "Usergroup for Wiki Moderator" to "Enable Support for Legacy Wiki Syntax". No missing phrases, no controls, nothing. It just isn't there.

Moreover, I don't see anything like it anywhere else in settings?

I made that tweak, refreshed, and still - nothing.

      ?

edit: Also, I forget if this was mentioned regarding headers/integration, but I made sure my CMS was switched ON during install (then I witched it OFF afterward, my forum doesn't use it). Even turning it back ON, just for test, I didn't see any such a setting as above?

I do have that setting, but the setting before it is 'enable wiki sidebar'.
From the name of the setting I understand that this is not just for wiki headers but also for other wiki content integration. Please explain that so that I understand what else this changes.

I have posted the task here: https://www.vaultwiki.org/issue.php?issueid=3708

Update: must have been some weird cache behavior somewhere... re: the update not having any effect, as I posted before.

I'm finding that if I use that tweak to force a value for that setting, suddenly headers popup everywhere, even in forums where I've set it, in per-forum settings, to NO. (Update: also in Areas where I've set it to NO)

I guess this is better than nothing, but I am troubled that
. I still can't see that ACP Setting, as above
. using the tweak above, I can't seem to control what forums (or even Areas) have headers -- they all have them, regardless of what the per-forum/per-area integration setting is?

While on the subject of headers, is it possible to downsize or disable the built-in title part on top? It is quite a large font thing for headers over forum pages, it distracts from the rest of the page, imho.
