How to get front page A-z index like NuWiki ?

Perhaps the main reason I used NuWiki is for its great 'at a glance' front page 'index' with all article titles visible laid out in alphabetical groups on one page.

I have just imported a NuWiki wiki to VaultWiki and its come out in thread list format...?

How do I get the great 'a-z' at a glance layout restored when using VaultWiki please? (I just bought it BTW!)

      Many thanks

Sorry for the delay, your post was moderated for some reason.

You can create a custom index page and set its URL in VaultWiki: Server Settings.

There is no way to automatically list all pages in the wiki overall, but you can list all pages in a wiki forum using the [forumindex] BB-Code around the ID of the wiki forum to alphabetize. You may have to enable the forumindex BB-Code in AdminCP > VaultWiki > Wiki Code Manager first.

Will Vaultwiki 4 have wiki portal functionality to show off all categories with articles and list new articles?

VaultWiki 4 automatically creates blocks on certain node-types (Index, Area, Group) that list a number of Pages, Categories, etc that are children of that node. These blocks also include a link to the full list. You can adjust the number that show before the link appears in the AdminCP.

As for the list itself, at least for Areas... Books, Categories, Attachments, Pages, etc, can be all mixed together under one Area if you've set it up that way (you can set what types are allowed) - but the list will of course have filters should the user only want to view one type at a time.

The Index is a little different since it doesn't have any children of its own. What it does is look for content that doesn't have parents of the same type. Like Areas with no parent, and categories that aren't inside other categories.

Once we've gotten all the main types handled and we're happy with the results, I expect we'll have another video about the landing/portal pages.

That sounds good. Is any real time feed functionality planned?

Real time feeds aren't really something we've thought about, and I'm not sure they would do anything except increase load on most sites. The only sites that would really benefit are those with lots of wiki activity every minute.

After considering counter arguments for a minute or so, I can see the appeal of having a page that lists all types of "Recent Wiki Activity" in one list: new pages, edits, chapters added, new comments, etc. It would almost make Special:RecentChanges obsolete, except that I think the special page would include more information.

Please create a feature request for this. It sounds like something for the sidebar on the wiki index.
