Very confused - can someone explain how this all works?

      Hi everyone
I've persevered with Vaultwiki, but I simply can't get my head around it. I've read the documentation but its still not making sense to me.

      VaultWiki installed flawlessly.
I received an error message that said I had to define the default namespace, so I went to namespace manager, called the default 'Articles about Tasmania' and created a parent forum called 'Articles about Tasmania'.

When I open this forum, and choose 'Create an Article' I get the message "you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons..." I checked my permissions and I seem to have them all correct.

Ideally what I would like is to have a parent forum called 'Articles about Tasmania' and then sub forums - 'Tasmanian History', 'Tasmanian Attractions' etc.

Is this even possible? I can't seem to create sub categories at all.

Also, what do I do with the other namespaces? Because when I edit them they want me to create another parent forum.

      Thanks in advance, Sandy

Your permissions problem may actually be an .htaccess issue. Please post the code that the Mod-Rewrite Generator told you to use.

You can add sub-categories via the Forum Manager. Just select the namespace forum as the Parent Forum.

You should create other forums for the other namespaces. Each namespace there makes different kinds of articles, so you'll want them in separate forums. If you want to organize them, you can give the namespace forums the same forum-category as a parent.

      RewriteBase /
Has been included in my file, but still getting the same error message.

      You need all three permissions:
      • Can View Forum
      • Can View Thread Content
      • Can Post Threads

Check AdminCP > Usergroups > Forum Permissions, to make sure there aren't custom permissions for the namespace forum.

      Hi Pegasus
Have check this, still no luck. All permissions are set to yes.

Any other ideas? This is the message I get when i try to 'post a new article'.

"You do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

I can post on other non wiki forums. I am the adminstrator/owner.

      Regards, Sandy

Have you checked that the forum is definitely open for posting? Forum is Open in the Forum Manager.

Do you have any other usergroups that you (your user) belong to? If so, what are the settings for those usergroups?

There are a very limited number of places in VaultWiki and vBulletin where no_permission is triggered. Are you using vBulletin 3 or 4? I'm at the point where I believe this may be a conflict with another modification, or a quirk under certain setting configurations.

If you can PM me a vB admin account to check this out, I should be able to have you up and running shortly.
