      Importing tables?

      Hi there,

I was wondering if there would be any way to get tables off of an existing webpage (i.e. a box score) and get them on a page in the wiki relatively quickly. I'm sadly lacking in experience in the coding department, so forgive me if this a stupid question.

      Thanks

To do it quickly, without having to convert a table to BB-Code yourself, you would view the source of the page with the table, and copy the table code into one of your wiki pages. For this to work, you would need HTML enabled in that wiki forum - so you probably would only want admins able to post or edit that subforum. Another thing you would have to worry about is any CSS styles on the table. They likely aren't in the table's immediate source and would be lost in this copy and paste. You would need to re-style the table yourself.

Unfortunately, there's no EASY way to replicate tables. Our product and feature pages, for instance, took a long time to code.

You can however, make creating repeat tables much faster. Spend the time to code a table template - the table with the text missing, and save it as a template. You would then be able to call the empty table whenever needed and plug in the text values. See Introduction to Templates for more information.
