Question Where do prefixes come from?

We sometimes get the prefix "Update:" showing up in front of an article name. I don't know where it is coming from. We do not have prefixes turned on on our message board. The prefix is not searchable and it is not obvious what it is for or how it got there. It does not seem to cause any problems, but it is confusing.

This means that someone has edited the article since the last time you read it. The "Update" prefix disappears if you mark the forum as read or if you read the article (there may be a delay depending how your forum processes thread views).

If you're having problems with the "Update" prefix not disappearing after marking the forum read, please see this report: http://www.vaultwiki.org/issues/923/
