Please Fix Features

Please fix the following features:
- After assigning the namespaces and subforums in the category, I set the display order of the subforums to display alphabetically. That was a waste of time, because the subforums aren't listed in the order that you input in the AdminCP...I think they're ordered by their forumIDs instead. Can you either fix the way they're being ordered to result from the way you order it in AdminCP, or better yet, do it alphabetically? It's easier to manage and keep track of alphabetically...well that's my opinion.
- URLs should reflect the title of the article, as in capitalization. For example, if the type of the article is input as "Statue of Liberty", the URL should have the S and the L capitalized. I realize that the page can be accessed no matter of capitalization, but for wiki's sake, please have URLs displayed and linked to as capitalized, to follow Wikipedia's footsteps.

I will look into the first thing that you mentioned as a bug, so I'll be moving this thread tomorrow or I'll forget.

As for the other part, most URLs are displayed and linked to with capitalization of the BB-Code input. In general, this should correspond to the article capitalization. There are only certain cases when the cached URLs are used (chapter next/previous navigation, for one), because we considered it a waste of server resources to use an SQL query just to find out the original capitalization...

Until we introduce multi-language support, a query like this simply doesn't make sense.

Bump..also fix this major problem:
Allow NameSpaces to be assigned in the same top-level forum as other NameSpaces; without this bug being fixed it drastically floods forums with unnecessary forums because for each NameSpace you have to create a forum to assign it to!

Why is this intended? Forums look horrible...
Look...really, you're not understanding how bad this looks when you have NameSpaces related to the same category and can't do it...it really floods the forums...why don't you just fix this?

You don't really have to create subforums at all. As long as you have the Top-Level forums separate, the namespaces and any general subforums should be grouped enough. If you create forum main pages (using vBulletin's forum link feature with an article's URL), no one should really ever need to see the forumdisplay for your wiki forums. If you are concerned about the breadcrumbs, this is something you'll have to get over for now.

I think I'm catching on now...

I set the Book forum to be viewable and I set the Template, Help, Header, and Default forums to display zero so no one sees them.

Then I set the Book forum to link to my Table of Contents.

Now, there is only one entry point for the book in my forums list and it takes clickers directly to the table of contents.

Or, do I also hide the Book forum and create a sixth forum to make the public face of the Table of Contents?

Once we set Default to display 0 -- we have to go directly to it's URL to add articles.

You don't have to go to the forum's URL if you can access any article in that forum. From an article, open the Wiki drop-down in the navbar, and select "Post New Article."

I'm not clear what you would need the 6th forum for?

We are planning to have a hierachy of research forums with a wiki article at the beginning of each forum and then a collection of research notes as normal threads below the article. The article will provide a general overview of the research area and will integrate information from the research notes.

Do I understand correctly that I can create a subforum with a link to the hidden wiki namespace article? The subforum will reside at the top of the research forum with the note/threads below that. The wiki will provide direct wiki editorial comments in the context of the wiki.

I have been delayed in implementing this because of misgivings by the other administrators that we will be able to manage and build content with little or no prior experience with a wiki.

Okay, I think I understand a little. Yes, you'll have a bunch of subforums then whose only purpose is to link to wiki articles.

Another way to accomplish a similar effect is to make use of forum headers. Forum headers allow you to create an article that appears (the full text) at the top of a forum (where enabled). One difference is that there are no tabs in this view (there is a link to view the article separately and switch to the tabbed view). Forum headers are contained in the "Header" namespace and they generally need to have specific title formats (auto-generated if you click the "create" link in the forum you want it).
