Special Features?

Hi,

I see listed CES VaultWiki Special Categories, CES VaultWiki Special Images, CES VaultWiki Special Xpages, and CES VaultWiki Special Xredirects as features of the Premium Edition.. But I can't find explanations of what these features are..

Can someone point me in the right direction?

These are all addons for VaultWiki that extend its functionality. They have been left out by default in the interest of keeping the core product as simple as possible.

Categories adds the "category" functionality which is similar to thread tagging but functions like MediaWiki categories.

Images adds a new namespace for handling uploaded images that one might want to insert into articles.

Xpages and Xredirects are packages of additional Special pages.

The category addon has been available for a while now for members who purchased the Premium package. Simply try the download link in the Members Area and it should work.

Do you have any usage hints on categories....I've had a look around this site but am unable to find any help/documentation on it. I looked up mediawiki's system and tried:

[category:test]
[[category:test]]


but none of them work. Could you point me in the right direction please?

I've created a namespace forum called Categories and linked to it in the ces wiki category options, but have so far not had any results...maybe some brief instructions in the readme file that comes with the download?

All right. So the MediaWiki version of the Category code would only work if legacy codes are enabled in your options. This is not recommended.

The appropriate use would be to use the [category][/category] code in an article. The "no option" version of this code adds the article to the category rather than linking to it. However, if this code is used in a non-article post, it would function as a link. The "option" version works the same as any other namespace BB-Code.

I've been doing some testing here:

but still can't get the categories to link at the bottom of the page like i'd expect them to, am i doing something wrong or was there a problem with the installation?

I still don't know all the correct options for creating a category or how to use them as there is nothing in the Help pages that I can see.
