      Tutorial on Books

Is there a tutorial on how to use the "Book" feature..., something for the simple minded?

I have created ten articles that are related and would like to put them in a book as chapters. I have no idea where to start. All my attempts at using the book feature have resulted in frustration.

      Thanks.

You should start by creating an article in the Book namespace. This article should basically describe what the contents of the book is going to be.

Once that is saved, you can go back to your 10 articles you want as chapters. Select the Book tab, and the Book you created earlier should appear in the list.

OK, I have done this. I started an article in the Book namespace.

In order to do this the Book namespace has to be an visible forum and an active forum, is that right?

When I click on the Book tab on the Wiki pull down menu I get this error.

      Code:
      The webpage cannot be found
       HTTP 404
         Most likely causes:
There might be a typing error in the address.
If you clicked on a link, it may be out of date.

         What you can try:
           Retype the address.

Go back to the previous page.

Go to and look for the information you want.

           More information

This error (HTTP 404 Not Found) means that Internet Explorer was able to connect to the website, but the page you wanted was not found. It's possible that the webpage is temporarily unavailable. Alternatively, the website might have changed or removed the webpage.

Does the dropdown for the title of an article work? Next to the article title, there is a little arrow, and the dropdown should say "What links here?"

If the What Links Here link looks the same, then it's likely the Special namespace was never built. Simply go to AdminCP -> CES VaultWiki -> Namespace Manager, find the namespace with ID 1 (probably called "Special") and click "Edit." Save, and see if the problem persists.

This is frustrating. I hope I didn't loose my articles.

I saw the update and updated my software to the latest version 2.1.2.

After doing this, all of my articles list in the Wiki but none of them will open up to an article. I get the following error.

      Code:
      The webpage cannot be found

Wow! I have serious problems since the update. Searching for new posts don't work with the Wiki enabled, I think I lost all the links to the Wiki articles, and nothing in the drop down menus seem to work.

I can't do what you suggested above because the links to the articles in the Wiki won't work.

I am thinking it would probably be easier to do a complete uninstall and reinstall the lastest version as a new install. I will loose a look of work, but the original install didn't work right to begin with. Books and Special didn't work at all.

      What do you think?

If I disable the CES VaultWiki in >Plugins and Products >Manage Products, all of the articles are there in the forum that is left. So I haven't lost the information.

Have you tried clicking "Rebuild All Namespaces?" This tends to work for most problems like this.

Hmmm..., I have looked all through the Admin panel and don't find a feature "Rebuild All Namespaces".

Could you tell me where to find this?

      Thanks for your time.
