      how to change the css?

Since I managed to install the wiki and at last got it running, I wonder how to change the colours and the layout.
By now I have a thick black border with a yellow font ... has a slight resemblance with the layout I am facing here on CES. Not that I don't like it, but it looks strange in a green board ...

You would rename vault/special.css. Then change the name of the CSS file to match in the product's options.

Can't we do it in admincp -> Styles & Templates?
That would be much more comfortable, especially, if we use this:

The product upgrade script already does something similar to that as long as you have the option set appropriately, so you don't have to worry about that (as long as your renamed file is 777). I opted not to make it a template because there is a lot of CSS, so rather than bloat the HTML output, importing the stylesheet was just cleaner.

Despite what I said earlier, I'm going to take your suggestion and change the CSS system for 2.1.0.

That's nice of you, thank you.
Doing so, you could change the layout and use the standards of vb maybe.
This would guarantee a style fitting in the used style of the board.

Nevertheless, I would like to get some hints, where I find the colours of the tabs, the colours of the fonts in the tabs and the definition of the borders and their colours.

Played with the special.css, but I don't quite understand it until now.

I personally use that Style Manager for my own site. You're right that it is much more user-friendly than searching through code you don't understand. I'm not a coder myself, I just write content, so I prefer the easy-to-use drop-down menus and color pickers in the Style Manager.
