VaultWiki right for me?
Hello,
I'm about to start a large upgrade of my site (www.greenandgoldrugby.com) in a few weeks and have come across VaultWiki in my search.
First a bit of background; When vBulletin 4.0 is released I'll migrate our forums to this from smf. From there I'll be integrating our wordpress blog with vB which I believe it's already possible, and then we'll be looking for a wiki solution which led me to here.
Some of the features I'd like in a wiki are:
- BBCODE driven wysiwyg interface
- easy to code and edit tables; ideally these will be sortable like this
- full vB 4.0 integration; preferably driven by the vB theme as well
- version control; easy ability to rollback user changes in the case of vandalism
- levels of user security; ideally viewer, contributor (needs edits approved), author and admin
- The first post of a thread would be the wiki article, and it would show up as the first post of each page in a thread. Discussion on a wiki article would be as replies in the thread. This one isn't a showstopper but it would be an elegant solution imho.
To conclude, I'm interested to know if you feel VaultWiki is a good fit. I'm not in a huge rush, but would like to know if you intend to bring out a vb4.0 version, and a very rough guide as to when, and also how much it is likely to sell for.
Also, I quite like that hover-popup thing you've got here, is that a hack?
Thanks,
Moses.

The hover popup you refer to is an optional feature of VaultWiki.
All of the items you mention are possible with VaultWiki. However, tables are not currently sortable, but this has been requested in the past and we're considering implementing it for a future release. Certain BB-Codes, such as tables, cannot be edited WYSIWYG - in early betas WYSIWYG table edits proved to be more frustrating than useful.
We are currently working on a vb4.0 version, which we hope to have available before vBulletin 4 goes gold (it's currently in beta).
The way discussions are handled is slightly different from what you describe. While discussions are handled as replies to a thread, the discussion appears on a separate tab from the main article. Users can easily switch back and forth between the article and discussion using AJAX.

Thanks for the reply pegasus,
The sortable tables was more a want, if it's coming in a future version that'd be great as it's not something I need to start the project.
It would be nice if there were a way to fully integrate the wiki into the forums, for example when you start a new thread you specify it to be a wiki thread and it appears in the first post, and on every page.
This is not a requirement though, just something I thought would be quite cool.

Sorry for use this thread but the hover popup in any post of my forum is what i'm looking for.
My forum is about aquarism and we want to add a wiki for terms definition (just dictionary), but we want that in our existing posts everywhere in our site the words that match with dictionary words can have a link to wiki and a popup quick definition.
Is this the optional feature that you are talking about?

Yes, this is an optional feature. When you setup the various wiki areas, make sure your dictionary words are added to the default area, because you can only auto-link from the default area. If you make links using BB-Code, then it will show pop-ups from whatever area (default or not).
