A [b]namespace[/b] contains articles. A namespace refers to the entire hierarchy of a specific parent forum and its respective child forums.
In each namespace, each article title in a Wiki forum is unique to that article. Every namespace has a unique prefix to the title variable in article URLs, usually the Title of the namespace.
If you visit the [help]Namespace Manager[/help], you will see a list of some pre-defined namespaces. These namespaces, as well as others that can be installed using modifications, each have special functions.
[h=2]Editing Namespaces[/h]
The process for creating and editing namespaces is essentially the same. There are a number of Yes/No options, which should be pretty self-explanatory. There are also a number of input fields, outlined below.
[image]vw_space_top.jpg|thumb|right|Namespace Settings[/image]Enter the Title of the namespace. This will be used as a prefix for article URLs, and it will appear in the forum list by this title.
You can enter a Display Title if you want the namespace to be called something else in the forum list, but this is optional.
Enter the BB-Code tag for the namespace. Wrapping some text with these tags will link to an article with that title, and will look for it in this namespace.
Enter a Display Order to arrange your namespaces on the forum list. A setting of 0 will hide the namespace.
[image]vw_space_forum.jpg|thumb|right|Namespace Forum Settings[/image]The Top-Level Forum is the forum where articles should be saved. Valid selections for this field are forums that have the following settings:
[list][*]Parent Forum: No One
[*]Act as Forum: Yes
[*]Forum is Active: Yes
[*]Forum is Open: Yes
[*]Enable wiki in this forum: Disabled (yes that's right)[/list]

Display in Forum is useful because most forum styles only like top-level forums with "Act as Forum: No". Selecting a Display Forum will treat the namespace as a child of that forum. The namespace will even inherit its permissions. -

Display in Forum is useful because most forum styles only like top-level forums with "Act as Forum: No". Selecting a Display Forum will treat the namespace as a child of that forum. The namespace will even inherit its permissions. However, if you do use this setting, make sure that the Top-Level forum actually has a Display Order in the Forum Manager, or no one will have access to the namespace.
