Adding and Editing Wiki Forums
This is an old revision of this page, as edited August 16, 2009, 3:27 PM by pegasus(contribs). It may differ significantly from the current revision.
While the wiki will function using only the forums defined in the Namespace Manager, some Administrators might want to give further structure to their wikis by adding sub-forums.
Most of the settings can be filled out to your preference, but there are a few exceptions.
Parent Forum
In order to add a subforum to an existing namespace, you must select either the namespace's "Top-Level Forum" (defined in the Namespace Manager) or a subforum of it.
Enable Wiki in This Forum
This controls whether the forum will act as a wiki forum or not. There are 3 options:
- Disabled - won't treat the forum as a wiki forum.
- Wiki - will treat the forum as part of a namespace. If the parent forum isn't the default forum of the namespace or a subforum of it, selecting this will give an error message.
- Island - will treat the forum as a wiki forum that doesn't belong to any namespace.
The Island Setting
Island forums can have more than 1 article with the same article title. On the other hand, you cannot link to an article contained in an Island using the namespace link BB-Codes. You can still link to Island articles using the URL tag if you know the direct URL.
