To edit a prefix, locate the desired prefix in the wiki Admin Panel on the Structures > Prefix Manager page, and click the Edit icon next to the name of the prefix that you want to change.
Whether you are editing an existing area or creating a new one, many of the options will be the same.
Title
The title of the prefix is the text that will be applied to the beginning of any article that uses the prefix.
For example, a prefix with the title "Fish" used on an article named "Tuna" will affect the URL of "Tuna" like so: Fish:Tuna.
Warning:
Remember that a single prefix can be used by many articles at the same time and that it is used as a component for the URLs of those articles. Modifying the title of a prefix will automatically affect the URLs every article that uses that prefix. Doing so may break existing links to those articles.
Changing a prefix's title is not recommend unless absolutely necessary.
BB-Code Example Usage
This shows an example of how users will link to articles that have this prefix.
For example:
Code:
[wiki]Fish:Tuna[/wiki]
You can double-click the example text to create a custom BB-Code for the prefix. The custom BB-Code will act as a shorthand to link to articles with the prefix without specifying the prefix directly.
Using a custom BB-Code called FISH, the same example becomes:
Code:
[fish]Tuna[/fish]
Even if you define a custom tag, users can still use the generic WIKI tag like the first example.
Warning:
If you change the custom BB-Code Tag Name from one custom tag to another, the old custom tag will no longer function as a wiki link. Doing so will break existing links using the old custom format.
Note:
The default wiki link tag, used in the previous examples, is WIKI. However, adminstrators can rename this tag in Settings > Wiki Links.
