Featured/new wiki carrousel

VW would benefit from showcasing wiki articles in a carrousel, as a small enhancement like this would make VW much more visually appealing. Something similar to what xenmediagallery and xenzine have. Such carrousel can be placed on forum home, on the wiki portal or anywhere as a widget.

Each image can link to an article and have the article title and preview snippet visible on hover.
The carrousel could be set to show new, featured or highest rated wiki articles. From all or selected areas.

As time has gone by I would like to expand on this suggestion. Currently it is a standard practice in XenForo addons to provide a Slider for featured content. Some examples of carousels and sliders with featured content:

I would like a similar slider for featured wiki articles, which I can place on portal and on area pages.
Not only is this very functional, it also makes our website look much better.

This suggestion appears to be moot now that XenForo 2.3 has native featured content, as well as the Featured Content widget type where you can choose to only show featured wiki pages, and where that widget allows you to render the listed content in a carousel.

It seems to me that this is true, except that it doesn't work for VW yet. The widget exists, but there is no widget location for it. i.e. Featured Content carousels are always placed in categories and main index. Its not possible to place a featured wiki widget on the main wiki page or on the area page.
