      BBCODE and Forum problems

      Hello,

      Like I said here: http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showp...6&postcount=50

      I installed your wiki (lite version) and right now my user can not post on my forum. Also the BBCODES are down (they dont work) and Im having a lot of problems.

      Im trying to find a way to uninstall this wiki but in your instrucctions I can not see how.

      When I click https://www.vaultwiki.org/pages/Help...Install-Manual UNISTALL, then I go here: https://www.vaultwiki.org/pages/Help...Article-Editor

      Can you help me please?

      This is my forum: http://akibaworld.es/showthread.php?...2172#post12172

      As you can see, the quotes arent working, and the smiles dont work too.

      I just want to Uninstall the Wiki, thats all. I want my forum back.

      Please submit a Support Ticket here: https://www.vaultwiki.org/members/?d...e&productid=20
      I'm surprised that disabling VaultWiki wouldn't work to get your BB-Codes working temporarily.

      Plenty of people have reported this bug with BB-Codes. We were able to reproduce it on a test site months ago but we released a patch for it at that time months ago. The patch works on the test site and it seems like it doesn't work for anyone else. Unfortunately until someone is actually willing to submit a ticket over this issue it just can't be resolved since we technically already fixed it.

      Same as: https://www.vaultwiki.org/issues/4122/
      Same as: https://www.vaultwiki.org/issues/3844/

      Note the 2 above issues have fixes that involve reversing the other fix. This seems to suggest that the problem is illogical or that users have been incorrectly reporting what works for them to resolve the issue. Thus this cannot be fixed properly without a Ticket for a test site that actually experiences the issue.

      Your issue with BB-Codes is that they don't work in certain wiki pages in the pro version.

      The OP's issue is that BB-Codes stop working in the main forum with the Lite version.

      I have responded to your issue via PM.

      Okay, while doing extra QA in the Lite version for 4.0.1 today, I believe I have this issue sorted out.

      It seems this happens in the Lite version for post content where BB-Code is enabled that is currently cached and still within the time limit of the post cache.

      I could not reproduce this before because I was always disabling the post cache -- I thought my posts were already cached in parsed form, and new posts always work on the first load. I was also misunderstanding the behavior of vBulletin which is to NEVER re-cache old posts that are beyond the time limit (I think this is a vBulletin bug, but it will never be fixed nowadays).

      This issue will also occur in the full version for posts where BB-Code is disabled but something else is not: e.g. smilies, or images. In such a case, smilies and images would not be parsed while the post remains in the cache.

      Note that as soon as the cache is disabled, expires, or is being primed, the posts will appear normally.

      Obviously, this is related to cache handling, and it explains why the issue continued even after the tag disabling function in vw_Tag_Model was fixed.

      This is fixed in the next release.

      So if I download it right now it will be fixed? Because I really want to have a wiki on my vBulletin, and if yours works fine, then I will buy the full version.

      As far as BB-Codes go it should be fixed. If you were having another issue too, I can't speak to that.

      Hello.

      I installed it again and it works fine. I just some errors:

      If I enter in the wiki_index.php the words like "Qué tal" ("How are you?" in Spanish) the "é" it disappears:

      How can I solve it? Screenshoot: http://puu.sh/ffxrN/7e78a44534.png

      If you help me with the problems of "á,é,í,ó,ú" (spanish characters) it would be great.

      Thanks again.

      Why if I am as an admin, when I click on edit I see a black edit box but when I click with a normal user I see the previous text?

      And the last one: The Wiki destroys the mobile version of my forum. I also check it and this also happens here too. And if I want to see the "Full site" in my mobile it goes to a "Not Found" "The found the requested url /forum was not found on this server". If I disable the Wiki, it turns okay.

      I think that the problem is similar to this: http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/forum...e-doesn-t-work

      I can modify my code, but this also happens to you and other sites that used this mod, so it will be cool if you solve this.

      Finally, I have a (stupid, but I have to ask) question. If I buy the Complete version, the Complete still having de BBCODE errors? Because I really want the wiki on my forum.

      Sorry for being such a burden to you, but I think that this mod is very cool and this erros must be fixed.

      I'll wait for your answer.

      VaultWiki uses UTF-8 encoding and I suspect your forum was created in vBulletin 3 first which used ISO-8859-1. VaultWiki will convert your text so that it appears normally on wiki pages, but ... make sure that the places where spanish characters appear are in phrases and not directly in the templates. Phrases can be converted from one character set to another but the templates cannot. If you really must do it in templates, then use the HTML entity rather than the character directly.

      For the Spanish characters in style and language names, I will look into that.

      The mobile site works fine for me here.

      - Add-ons need to have a separate mobile style to work with vBulletin's mobile style (this means 2 copies of every template). Only the complete version has mobile templates. You will only be able to view the wiki from Full Site in the Lite version. However, there should be no wiki content on regular pages so I don't think it would "destroy" the mobile version. I will look into this.

      - The complete version does not have BB-Code errors. There was a rare problem with smilies but it's fixed in the newest version.

      a) My forum was created in vBulletin 4.4.2 and I didnt change it. I will try to find why happens that...

      b) You didnt andswer the question: Why if I am as an admin, when I click on edit I see a black edit box but when I click with a normal user I see the previous text?

      c) As I now, if I click on my mobile and your mobile style, it doesnt work ok. Look at this screenshoots of your website:
      http://puu.sh/fhwp3/dc50a47ff3.png
      http://puu.sh/fhwnD/d49af92539.png

      Sorry again, but I want to make a big update to my forum I want to show all the new mods to my users when I now that these work correctly to me.

      a) If your forum was created in vBulletin 4.2, then your character encoding should be UTF-8. By your screen-shots, it looks like something else. Perhaps you used a Spanish language pack made by someone who used to have vBulletin 3. That would change your encoding without you knowing. Like I said, you should use the HTML entity codes in templates rather than raw characters since the templates are actually HTML code. I will see what the problem is with the language/style choosers. I think this should be converted automatically so it might be a bug. If that's the case, you need to open a new bug report because it has nothing to do with BB-Codes (this thread is about BB-Codes not working).

      b) I'm not sure what you mean. If you're seeing random black boxes on your wiki pages this was a bug in Google Chrome 36, but it appears to be fixed as of Chrome 40. If you think it's a different bug, you need to open a new bug report because it has nothing to do with BB-Codes (this thread is about BB-Codes not working).

      c) Okay, I see this now in Firefox only. It is actually a bug if you use vBOptimize or perhaps Google Page Accelerator to make your Javascript smaller. It seems like there is a problem with the current version of the compressor, and it has absolutely nothing to do with VaultWiki.

      In clientscript/vbulletin-mobile.js, find:
      Code:
      var regexp = /(ftp|http|https):\/\/(\w+:{0,1}\w*@)?(\S+)(:[0-9]+)?(\/|\/([\w#!:.?+=&%@!\-\/]))?/
      Replace with:
      Code:
      var regexp = /(ftp|http|https):\/\/(\w+:{0,1}\w*@)?(\S+)(:[0-9]+)?(\/|\/([\w#!:.?+=&%@!\-\/]))?/;
      It's missing a semi-colon which confuses some browsers when the whitespace is removed.

      Hello.

      a) I will check that.

      b) If I am an admin I click on "edit" that page of WikiVault, then the page, the box where you have to write, turns white. If I am a normal user, then I can the text and edit on it. If you want I will open another post on the support.

      c) The only code that I found on my vbulletin-mobile.js is this one:

      {var a=/(ftp|http|https):\/\/(\w+:{0,1}\w*@)?(\S+)(:[0-9]+)?(\/|\/([\w#!:.?+=&%@!\-\/]))?/;
      And I found this error when I was on my Android mobile phone on Google Chrome. Well, that's not true, a user told me it and then I saw it too.

      Here you have a link to my forum. http://akibaworld.es/forum.php

      As you can see, when the VaultWiki is activated and you change the style in to the mobile style, then happens this in Firefox and Google Chrome: http://puu.sh/fhFAx/296e3d6e5c.png

      Also, if you want to click on "Sitio Completo" ("Full site" in english) then it redirects you to http://YOURDOMAIN.COM/forum/?styleid=X

      The problem is that the method that vBulletin uses to change the style is http://YOURDOMAIN.COM/?styleid=X without the forum.

      Thats why I give you this two posts a go:

      I think that the problem is similar to this: http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/forum...e-doesn-t-work
      I can modify my code, but this also happens to you and other sites that used this mod, so it will be cool if you solve this.

      b) When you are viewing the blank editor, try editing the URL in the browser. Add &wysiwyg=0 and load. What happens?

      c) Thanks for the link. Now I can see the error you have.

      It is trying to load some stuff for the wiki mobile style but it doesn't exist in the Lite version. In vault/core/model/plugins/general/vb3.php, find:
      Code:
      		if (vw_Hard_Core::controller('Request')->is_mobile())
      		{
      			$templater = vw_Hard_Core::fetch_template('headinclude');
      			$templater->modify_template(
      				'clientscript/jquery/jquery.mobile-1.0.vb.js',
      				'clientscript/jquery/jquery.mobile-1.2.1.js'
      			);
      			$templater->modify_template(
      				'clientscript/jquery/jquery.mobile-1.0.min.css',
      				'clientscript/jquery/jquery.mobile-1.2.1.css'
      			);

      			return;
      		}
      Delete that code and save.

      c) Remeber, Im using vb4, so I need to add it vb4.php? or vb3?

      Ok, there is no vb3, haha.

      EDIT: I just delete the code. Now it works okay!
