A page/template to list all articles & categories

It would be very helpful to have a way to list all articles or categories on 1 page. This gives users a quick overview of the articles available.

Special:Allpages does not give a useful overview of pages, because it uses one line per page, and therefore doesn't serve up many pages on the same page.

One approach is to list all categories on one page. When clicking on a category the articles within that category become visible using a jquery hide&show effect.

It would be particularly useful if this page could be used as the main wiki page.

If 20 articles per-page and max 500 results is not enough, you can change these settings in VaultWiki: Pagination Options.

We are actually planning on that category feature already for category navigation, so thanks for adding this to the tracker for us.

This suggestion has been accepted in 2011 and is stated to be included in VW4 beta. But it has not been included so far.

There are still some issues with pre-Gamma milestones that we neglected to slate to a different release. We have not lost or forgotten about these issues. Typically we work with the "any active" filter as we are sifting through issues we decide to address.

Which is asking about a BB-Code like forumindex or showthreads for categories, while I hijacked this request earlier to simply be used for Content Lists.
