VaultWiki 3.0.7, released today, is the first version of VaultWiki to be compatible with vBulletin 4.1.0. vBulletin 4.1.0 became available as a public beta early last week, and unfortunately it did not include many of the features new to 4.1 (like the CKeditor). Because of this, it is likely that any future releases for vBulletin 4.1 will not be compatible with VaultWiki until we release additional patches for each.

Regardless, VaultWiki 3.0.7 is compatible with vBulletin 4.1.0 (Beta 1, not Beta, and PL 1), and it also includes a small roll-up of bug fixes made since 3.0.6 Build 001.

      Shopping Cart Woes

Earlier this week we discovered an exploit in our site's shopping cart. At first it seemed to be only an issue in which customers paying via E-Check might not be handled automatically. But closer investigation revealed that the same flaw could be exploited by a user to purchase VaultWiki licenses and support products like renewals or branding removals for a significantly lower-than-normal price.

If anyone were able to take advantage of this, it could have potentially devalued the product for other customers who have legitimately paid for it full. Existing customers can rest easy that we have fixed this issue before anyone could exploit it.

In order to properly fix the issue without invalidating any pending purchases, we had to apply the fix incrementally. If any customers had noticed any delay in order processing yesterday and today, it was likely due to this. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter.

VaultWiki 3.0.7 is compatible with vBulletin 4.1.0 Beta 1
What does this mean for vB4.1 (no Beta) which is available since two days?

        Thanks

vBulletin 4.1.0 is still actually beta, which you will see when you go to download it. I don't know why they left this out of their announcement, since they usually discourage customers from installing beta software.

Hm, I can't really follow. In the download-area vB 4.1.0 is the actually version (also in the ACP). No word or anything else about "beta" there.
        Confusing.....

vBulletin 4.1 is also now available as a public Beta. This can be downloaded from the vBulletin Members Area at: http://members.vbulletin.com
        Please note:
        * We do not provide support for Beta versions
        * Some minor bugs remain unresolved at this time, and we do not recommend beta software to be installed on production sites.
        * We always recommend that you back up your database fully before attempting to install beta software.

I have posted my 2 cents at vbulletin.com. For the time being it's up to them to set the record straight: http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showt...=1#post2081868

I've put together a timeline. This is another debacle that we can blame IB for because apparently they released 4.1.0 before it finished QA, so they called it Beta 1, even though they didn't intend for a true beta period. Here's what happened:
        • Nov 23
          1. vBulletin.com releases 4.1.0 Beta 1 (which is just 4.1.0, before passing QA)
        • Nov 30
          1. vBulletin.com releases 4.1.0 (not beta, it finally passed QA, but probably contained more bug fixes).
          2. You download 4.1.0 (not beta).
          3. But a bug is found and they remove the download in a few hours after release.
          4. The announcement doesn't acknowledge that it was different than Beta 1, but I personally check the download area anyway. I can only download Beta 1. This causes a belief that it was just another announcement to remind people.

          1. VaultWiki 3.0.7 is released

          1. You ask if 3.0.7 is also compatible with 4.1.0 (not beta).
          2. I personally check the vBulletin Download area, and 4.1.0 (not beta) is still removed. I post my response.
          3. vBulletin.com releases 4.1.0 PL 1 to fix the bug found Nov. 30.
          4. You personally check the vBulletin Download area, and 4.1.0 PL 1 is there. My response confuses you.
          5. I personally check again and now confirm 4.1.0 PL 1 is there now. I post on vBulletin.com.
          6. After receiving several responses, I put together this timeline.
          7. VaultWiki 3.0.7 is confirmed working with 4.1.0 PL 1 and the release announcement is updated.
