However, the number of problems caused by vBulletin 4.0.2 forced us to keep it in QA for a while - and gave us the time we needed to roll out some much-anticipated changes.
Multi-Language Support
VaultWiki 3 Beta 5 is the first public build to support writing wiki pages in more than one language. Requested since very early in VaultWiki's development, Multi-Language support is something we have wanted to add for a long time but it required so many data management changes that it just seemed to get delayed further and further. As of Beta 5, users can select what language they are writing in when creating any page. The language choices are limited only by what language packs you have installed for vBulletin. Once the language for a page is set, only users with permission to change language settings can alter it.
Below every wiki page will be a menu that allows users to translate the page to a different language. Pages that have been translated are permanently linked - using the same menu you can switch the viewing mode to another translation of the same page.
Please note: because of limitations in vBulletin's language chooser, you can only switch translation views using the provided form.
Rather than creating a new translation, if there is already a wiki page that you want to use as one, users with permission to change language settings can enter its URL in a page's Translate tab to link the two pages.
Namespace titles and paths can now be translated for each language via the "[Translations]" link in the Namespace Manager. Because it's possible not all items will be translated, pages written in the same namespace, regardless of their language, still must follow the 1 title-per-namespace rules.
Improved Forum Headers
In the past, forum headers were restricted in their naming conventions to being the name of the header forum and the target forum ID. With the changes to the language system, we were forced to implement a new, more versatile system. It is now possible to name forum headers anything you want. Rather than a required part of the title, the target forum is instead selected using a menu in the header's Edit tab. Using this menu, you can easily save headers for later or change the forum they are attached to - and have a different header for each forum language.
