How can I set VW to create new categories in a specific area only?

Currently all types of pages are lumped in the area SYSTEM.
Due to the negative SEO impact of attachment pages I had to restrict this area to members only.
But this area also had redirects, categories and articles. So I moved those to decicated Areas.

How can I set VW to create new categories in a specific area only? Same for redirects.

I submitted a feature request for new pages (via red link) to default to the same area as the referring page instead of System. E.g. If viewing/editing a page in the Area "SEO Help", then a new page via a red link should default to "SEO Help" (so long as this Area allows the relevant page type) https://www.vaultwiki.org/issues/5392/

Perhaps categories created through the page editor's "Create New Category" overlay window could also be aware of the referring page's destination area and use that as the category's default "save to" area. Assuming this behaviour is practical to implement for new categories via the page editor, what do you think?

For synonyms/redirects, I've requested a feature to optionally move them with the target page into the same destination area. I find it too easy to forget about synonyms when moving a regular page. This can lead to an unwanted no permission situation if the synonym's area restricts viewing it even if the target page is viewable: https://www.vaultwiki.org/issues/5391/

The current way to do this would be to adjust the area settings for your areas so that the System area does not allow Categories.
