After import there is a wiki pages area added to my site. Why is this?
Can I just remove it?

Why is a 'wiki pages' area added to our wiki?

The 'Wiki Pages' area is included with every installation by default, because some admins did not like the extra step of having to create an area before starting to write wiki content.
You can remove the default 'Wiki Pages' area.- lead developer for VaultWiki
