IPB 4

Hello Pegasus, I have posted here a few times over the years and news of IPB coming out always been soon. Now it been a year from that last time I posted, what is the current push out for IPB, is it still coming? I try to reply to your thread on IPB but you haven't log in for a few good months there.

We do have a development board where IPB development is going on. I think we had to stop it for a while to wait for some bug fixes in IPB first, and I think those are fixed now, so work continues.

We have not forgotten about IPB. We have been tracking its market share, and its promise is only increasing. The problem for us has been balancing IPB development against other developments our existing community already wants, so it has been slow. Plus, we have not rushed to have it ready, because the original plan was to release it side-by-side with a new second-point release (4.1.x). Reaching that second-point is still a ways off that has taken longer than we first thought.

I am not sure, since we need to have a beta period for IPB, how we will handle it if we don't have a regular beta for a relatively major version. There are ways; maybe have a separate version system for IPB for a while, or change the expected 4.1.x number to a different arbitrary number like 4.2.x to give room for beta numbers.

Maybe have a system like this*:

I too am keen for this, we did back the IndiGoGo? crowd campaign but I think that went no where.

Then with the increase in the market and it becoming bigger does that mean we will be seeing it coming to market this year maybe? There been a push to have a Wiki App but you have been the only one saying stuff on it but from your post on the IPB Forms people are wanting some more information are replies to it. I came here to see if I can a update to that. Each version is about a 6 to 9 month between as the other apps for the other forums software are just to keep it up you open up your customer basic more in terms of people from a more robust software.
