Deny comments?

What does the function to deny comments do?

I was not able to perform the action as I lacked permission somehow. Yet I am the admin.

You can only Deny a comment that is waiting for moderation.

Here are some similar terms and how they differ:

- Approve: For content in the moderation queue, Yes, the content can be posted.
- Deny: For content in the moderation queue, No, the content cannot be posted.
- Unapprove: For content that was already posted, Send it back to the moderation queue.

What happens after denial? Is it essentially a delete function?

It is essentially a soft-delete, although the status reflects that it was denied. For example, users are told their content was "not approved" rather than "deleted".
