      error with one of my wiki links (Wiki-Main)

      The middle link in this photo (Wiki Main), when clicked produces this error:

      Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 134217728 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 491520 bytes) in /home/(user name deleted)/public_html/forums/includes/nbtalm_plugins/process_templates_complete.php on line 530

      idwiki.JPG

      What and why would this be happening?

      Without knowing the contents of this file, I would not know: /public_html/forums/includes/nbtalm_plugins/process_templates_complete.php
      It looks like another mod might be sent into an infinite loop because of something it doesn't expect about that link.

      It is a nav bar add on and apparently the developer of that has disappeared. But I have had this set up for eons now....what would make it start doing something like that just out of the blue? And only on that one WIKI link and nothing else in the whole forum?

      My only work around for that nav bar is to upgrade to the 5x series of vbulletin....when will vaultwiki be compatible with the 5x forums?

      This really has something to do with the bread crumb navigation.

      When we use the [ wiki ] code as a link, it is producing a link that ends in this: forums/showwiki.php?title=IDwiki

      And when we click that, it takes us back to an OLD wiki main page, not the current one. So in order to get rid of the bad link, I need for when we use the [ wiki ] link code for it to just go to: forums/showwiki.php.

      How do I get it to do that?

      Code:
      [wiki=""]New wiki main page[/wiki]
      This is the correct way to access the wiki index... However, depending on what version you are using, you may or may not be able to save a page that has this link in it because of a bug.

      If you have an issue, I will suggest using the following for the time being:
      Code:
      [URL="http://mysite/forums/showwiki.php"]New wiki main page[/URL]

      Is there somewhere that I can tell the wiki to use that URL whenever it sees the code [ wiki ] [/wiki ]? Because we have that code all through throughout our forum and yes, it seems that is the way it works for us, at least right now.

      Because there are very few sites using vBulletin 5, vBulletin 5 support would be coming some time after IPS4 and phpBB support.

      As a side note, I see that only in the last few weeks, vBulletin finally attempted a version of 5 that is better for developers. I have not looked at it yet.

      IPS4 and phpBB support were put on hold last year because the fundraiser for it did not muster much support. We have started working on IPS support again recently, but it is not a primary focus of development, since it would be part of a major release. We will probably try to launch phpBB support in the same version.

      Then hopefully there is some way I can do what I asked about in the post just above your last one here? That would fix mostly everything for me for now.

      I just saw your fundraising site, I was not even really aware that it was going on. I am sorry to hear that you didn't get the support you needed. I certainly couldn't have contributed a huge chunk but I could have put in some. Mostly I wonder if there are people who were not even aware of it, like I was not?

      To convert WIKI links with "IDWiki" in the tag to a link to the real index, this plugin should do what you want. In the AdminCP > Plugins & Products > Plugin Manager, create a new plugin:

      Product: vBulletin
      Hook Location: vw_bbcode_linkoption
      Code:
      if ($handler->parent->get('class') != 'link')
      {
      	$_custom_option = $option;

      	if ($option === false OR $option === null)
      	{
      		$_custom_option = $value;
      	}

      	if (strtolower($_custom_option) == 'idwiki')
      	{
      		$option = '';
      		$got_option = true;
      	}
      }
      You can name it whatever you want, etc. After doing this, you might have to clean the wiki parse cache in Wiki Admin Panel > Maintenance > Rebuild Counters / Caches.

      You are my hero today! Thanks Pegasus, that worked perfectly!!

      I am thinking I might try doing a fresh install of vbulletin (4.2 which is an upgrade from where I am currently) and then importing my current board with Impex. Would I then do an import of vault wiki after that? And should I upgrade to current wiki version first, or after I do that?

      I have had my forums for over 15 years now and it was originally a UBB board....so there is so much crap stacked up over the years that I just feel like a clean install would be such a good thing to do.

      Yes, you would import VaultWiki after you are done with Impex. I recommend that both sides of the import use the current version if possible.

      Ok good, thanks. I will probably hire you for the upgrade and import when I get to it. I have to tackle taxes first and get our old house ready to sell. So hopefully sometime this late spring I will be ready to go with that.

      Thanks again Pegasus!

      So....this is what my webhosting support said about the error above:

      "it appears that the script used there has been hitting the 128 MB php memory limit.

      To avoid further issues, we have raised the limit to 256 MB for the account"

      So it works now but it is seriously slow to load. A much better way to access that same page is:

      /forums/showwiki.php?title=IDwiki-Main&do=list

      instead of

      /forums/showwiki.php?title=IDwiki-Main

      Is there any way I can make that second link (Wiki Main) in the photo I attached to the first post go to that first link instead of the second one?

      Is it possible to maybe do this through a template change?

      I don't remember if you have ever done this, but it rings a bell. Maybe with a file edit that I gave you, but did you ever change the limits on the area preview to be ridiculously high so that it would show every article in the area on a single page? If so you might want to undo that file edit / setting change / however you accomplished it. You cannot show that many articles at once without taking a performance hit, as you have now noticed.
