String Manipulation and Checking for Existence of a Page

Would it be possible to add functions (if they don't exist already) into vaultwiki that would function as #replace and #explode do in the parser functions extension of mediawiki? The documentation in mediawiki for these functions can be found here: http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extens...ns#.23replace:

We use a template heavy structure in the wiki that we have open already in mediawiki and the same team is now working on opening a vaultwiki wiki and was hoping to have much of the same functionality. Losing the ability to perform string manipulation in templates is something that we would really prefer not to do.

Additionally, down a similar vein, is it possible to check if a page has been created already (basically the #ifexist from mediawiki). The #ifexist equivalent isn't nearly as important as the string manipulation functions, but it would be extremely convenient if we had it.

      Thanks!

Edit - Just realized I probably should have posted this in this forum..
