1. VaultWiki 4's first public beta will only run on vBulletin 3.6 - 4.x. We will release support for other forum software in the second beta release.
2. There will be a public beta once we are confident that:
- VaultWiki 4 doesn't cause data loss from VaultWiki 3
- features that were standard in VaultWiki 3 are present and in a functional state in VaultWiki 4
- you can perform standard actions like posting and editing pages without errors
3. Until all of #2 are satisfied.
4. Alpha has had feature locked status for a while now (about a year), but we have not enabled all of those features in the live alpha yet (launched June 1 of this year), and alpha members are still reporting features that we forgot to forward-port.

On point two will you make sure we can convert to VW4 because then i can start using VW3 for now.
Point 4 new features will some be added into the software especially on i will sound self centered the one of copyright i made because these days copyright is much needed.
VaultWiki 4 is an upgrade from VaultWiki 3, or a fresh install. If it's an upgrade, it will of course convert the data, and this is where we are currently looking closely for data loss. As for having a fresh VaultWiki 4 install, and importing from a separate VaultWiki 3 install, this is a feature we want to have, but it will need an importer which is separate from our upgrade script.
I have mentioned in the past that the importer will be missing from VaultWiki 4 for the first release. Users who need to import from MediaWiki, but want to run VaultWiki 4, should install VaultWiki 3 first, import, then upgrade, until the import system is updated.
Only the private Alpha is feature locked, which prevents us from being in development forever. We will of course begin adding new features again to the public version of VaultWiki 4 as they are requested.
