      Namespace Prefix in Category list?

      Hello there,

I'm quite new to VaultWiki and I had some difficulties getting stared (because the whole Wiki concept is quite new to me), but I finally managed to find my way around some things.
Right now I'm testing categories, but I came across a question that quite confused me.

I read the manual and there the category's articles are listed this way:

      E
      • E - Article starting with the letter E
      • E - Second article starting with the letter E
        etc.

The problem is now that I run three different wikis in my forum with different namespaces.
But I'm only trying out the categories for one of the wikis at the moment.

Anyways... When I try adding an Article to a category, it looks like this:

      E
      • Wiki 1's Title:E - Article starting with the letter E
      • Wiki 1's Title:E - second article starting with letter E

Now I'm wondering: Does the Wiki's title has to be displayed in the category list or is there a way to turn this off?
It looks rather confusing. I tried the namespace's settings and turned "Show Namespace in Forum Bits?" and "Prefix Namespace Title?" off, but it didn't work.

And there is an issue about linking articles to a category as well.
Sometimes the tag works right away but sometimes it needs an awful lot of time until the article is displayed in the category's list.
The syntax is right but sometimes I have to edit the article several times until the category-list is updated.
I don't know why that is and it makes things quite confusing. The syntax is right tough, I've tested it.
      I'm running the current version.

I'd be really glad for help here. Thank you very much in advance

Since the list is an aggregate list, showing all articles from all namespaces that are members, it needs to show the namespace to differentiate articles.

As for the category list taking a while to update, this is a design issue we intend to fix in version 4. Until then, it might help if you posted the source code for an article where the categories haven't updated.

      Thanks for your answer

Still I'm wondering why it works on your site without displaying the namespace in front of the article. Is it because you only have one Wiki or what's the reason behind this?

As for the source code, I'd gladly send it to you. But how can I view the source code? The problem is, that sometimes one article is listed and then again after editing it isn't. It seems completely random. I also thought that maybe the tags are respinsible for this but I haven't confirmed it yet.

Oh... or is there a way to add a "non-aggregated category list" to a wiki?

      Thanks!

If the articles are in the namespace you have set as the Default Namespace, then it won't display the namespace in front for category members that exist in that namespace. Other articles still show the prefix.

You can view the source code for an article by using the article's Source tab, or the article's Edit tab and turning off WYSIWYG.

Ah thanks. You know what I just noticed? I've just turned the WYSIWYG editor off and edited and article that hadn't been displayed. I saved the article and now it is displayed properly. And another thing I changed are the BB-Codes for the category. I used lower letters and now I'm using capital letters. I'll try to add some more articles and observe what's happening. I'll let you know once I find out something useful

      Hi again,

I have the same problem with categories listings.

I want to create a glossary with is own namespace and category "Glossary" but every term appears with the prefix:

      Glossary: Term1
      Glossary: Term2

I don´t want to mix glossary terms and articles in the same namespace so, any way to get this working without prefixes?

      Thanks!

You need to use the prefix to separate them into different namespaces, but you can hide it from the title when you're reading the article.

In the Namespace Manager, there is a setting "Prefix Namespace Title?" which you probably want to set to No.
