What template does the initial page (when you click on Wiki in the tab bar) use? I am trying to create a custom landing page for the wiki and can't figure out if I need to edit a template or create a custom page, but I do want to keep the wiki search option on the page...

If you want to keep the search on the page, then you should edit the template vault_search_noid.

Check it out now and see what you think. Is there a way to change the search so that only searches through articles and not images?
