      Default Namespace

      I was having some problems with autolinks and then came across this thread:
      http://www.vaultwiki.org/threads/4940/

      So looks like you can't autolink within the default namespace?

      So was wondering, when should the default namespace be used?

      I'm looking at setting up a wiki for a car forum with the following namespaces:

      - Ford Models
      |->Mustang
      |->Falcon
      |->Fiesta

      - Technical
      |->Engine
      |->Springs
      |->Swaybars

      - Acronyms
      |->ECU
      |->ETC

      - Website
      |->Site Usage
      |->Site FAQ

      Where items denoted |-> are articles

      Ideally I'd like to be able to autolink between the Technical and Ford models namespaces but seems like this isn't possible.

      In the thread you linked, I assume you are referring to the following:
      You can autolink to the default namespace only from non-wiki areas.
      For better clarity, this should actually read:
      From non-wiki areas, you can only autolink to the default namespace.
      Unless you have a big reason otherwise, you should be placing all of these as sub-forums of the default namespace. Then you'll be able to autolink between all the pages.

      Thanks for that. My only problem with putting these as sub-forums is that when you go to the Wiki homepage, that will only show a couple of boxes for the wiki and special pages. As opposed to say a box for Ford Models, Technical, Acronyms etc.

      When you say 'non-wiki' areas, does this mean places like the forum, CMS articles etc?

      EDIT: I can't seem to find the section in the documentation on how to add a sub-forum. is this done under Forums & Moderators -> Forum Manager -> Add Child forum under the Default namespace assigned forum ?

      Yes, that is the correct way to add a child forum. We are working on the not-enough-boxes issue for VaultWiki 4. In the mean time, this is a necessary evil, or you have to create your own Wiki home page to put all the extra links you want.
