Awesome, it's starting to look nice now, articles are auto-linking and the sub-forums are working nicely.

Hi guys,
I'm wondering why the wiki isn't auto-linking to wiki articles when the text is placed in a table?
Example here: http://www.vaultwiki.org/demo/auto-l...le?redirect=no
Because you had already linked that same text earlier in the article.

That makes sense, but is there a way to allow a link to be used more than once from a page without using wiki tags on them?
Incidentally, I noticed that http://www.vaultwiki.org/forums returns a 404, yet http://www.vaultwiki.org/forums/ works. The slash on the end is mandatory.
No, it will only link once unless you use wiki tags. Then it will always link wherever the tag is.
Yes this is a known limitation of vBSEO.

I'm not running vBSEO, any other reason it might be only linking once?
vBSEO doesn't affect auto-links. I was referring to the URLs you pointed out on this site.

Now I'm confused!
I'm experiencing the same issue on my site, I can give you a login to this if you wanted to see it.
I have been able to replicate the issue on your wiki, but this is due to a known limitation of vbseo only linking once? I'm not running vbseo, but do experience the issue. Should this limitation still affect me?
This is what I was referring to when I talked about vbSEO. It has nothing to do with auto-links.
If the same thing is happening on your site, then it's due to a limitation of whatever you're using to rewrite your URLs. If /forums is a physical location, there wouldn't be a problem.

Oh, that makes sense then.
I don't have a problem with trailing slashes, however I do have auto-links only showing once. Is there a way to parse an autolink every time a match to a wiki article is found? I'm not so worried about it in the forums, and notice it only happens in the forum when an article title is mentioned more than once in the same thread.
It would be great if there was a link each time an article is mentioned in the wiki.
Cheers,
Moses.
Like I said in my response earlier, it will only do it automatically once. If you want the link to appear multiple times, you have to add it manually.

Thanks for getting back to me pegasus, most appreciated. Is there any reason why this is the case, ie design, performance, technical difficulty etc? I can't see why you'd want to auto-link once and only once.. and while it's not a huge issue as we could put wiki tags on everything, I am curious.
But on to more pressing issues, I'm going to launch my wiki on Sunday so would love a bit of help on getting it to look just right. I've just posted the draft code for one of our pages under auto-linking from a table, and am hoping for some advise on tweaking the way it displays.
I'd like the table of contents to come after the intro. where I've put the [TOC]NONUM[/TOC] BBCode.
Also, on the auto-link preview that shows in the forum, it'd be nice if it didn't show the massive 'Biography' and just the pic, rather I'd like to see the picture thumb and the first paragraph of content.
Thanks again,
Moses.
Auto-links only occur once per message to reduce potential clutter and nuisance. Some words are used extremely frequently and people don't want random links (or their pop-ups) everywhere. Many users think that if they wanted to post a link, then they would have done it on purpose. If you only do it once, then it's less likely to make the users annoyed with you.
There is currently no way to customize the output of a link pop-up. It includes up to the first line break.
There is a bug where suppressing the auto-TOC using is not working correctly. This has been fixed for the next build, but will make placing it after your intro impossible unless your intro doesn't have a headline before it.
