      Automatic Decapitalization of Article Titles

      Hi,

I'm trying to make articles with titles like:

      ADAT
      DAC

      - our industry has lots of abbreviations.

      VW is converting these to

      Adat
      Dac

      - which just looks wrong.

I've tried using A.D.A.T. and the same thing happens. Do you have any suggestions of how to prevent decapitalization?

      Thanks,

      Jamie

I don't believe there is a setting that adjusts this atm, it's a problem in some ways on my Wiki. Perhaps including the suggested feature might be worth doing (In the Support Project). I would suggest trying to lower all the letters to lowercase (though I'm not sure whether it will capitalize the first letter or not), as that will still look decent.

You can refer to articles in capital letters and it will redirect properly still, so it's only the aesthetics of the article title that is affected.

PS, welcome to the forums, I'm sure you'll like this place

As far as I can tell from my tests, VaultWiki preserves the capitalization in page titles correctly. See: CAPITALS.

The only place where this is any different is on some special page lists, where I believe it capitalizes the first character and leaves the rest as they are.

Strange, this is definitely new in 3.0, I had issues with this in the old 2 series.

Not particularly new, but there were several bugs related to this that were fixed in the latter half of 2.5.x. What version are you using, Jeemy?

I don't think VaultWiki is doing this. It may be caused by the vBulletin settings that prevent "Shouting" - capitalizing every letter in thread titles. See: Settings > Options > Message Posting and Editing Options > Prevent 'SHOUTING'

[template] Warning Box | Note | You either want to set this to '0' or a higher number than its current value. [/template]

That is what will have been causing my problem, I've disabled the setting, and I'm getting full capitalization
