      Books, chapters and sub sections

      Hi,

I have been attempting to put a book together and the basics are working fine. I noticed however that your manual has chapters with sub sections within them. For example you do not just have chapter 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 etc but you also have 1, 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, 1.5

I cannot find any info on how this is achieved.

My book will be a manual similar to your own manual. I need to split it in to sections and then have multiple chapters in each section.

Thanks for any assistance you can lend on this one.

My understanding is that this is achieved by making each chapter its own "book", and then making a top-level book, essentially, a "book of chapter-books". I have not tested this out myself, though.

Yup, that's the way to do it. So at least each chapter that needs it's own 'subsections' must be in the book namespace. You then add the articles you want to that chapter/book.
