      Fileupload

      Hi!

How can I upload some files into the wiki? Is there another possibility as the vB-filemanager?

If you mean is there something other than the file manager, yes you can change in your settings per user (I think somewhere in the AdminCP settings as well) to use the standard file manager.

If you want to upload images, you're best doing it in the image namespace.

For example, if you want to upload a file called avatar.jpg, then you create an article called avatar.jpg in the image namespace, and then attach your image called avatar.jpg to the article, save it, and you can then use the special image bbcode (not the [img] but the [image] bbcode that comes with VaultWiki) in any articles you want to include it in.

Hope that helps answer your question.

      Thanks for your answer.

It is thus not possible to upload files with VaultWiki into a folder on the server? I see a problem in the fact that the ownership is with the user, if it is uploaded as "vB attachment".

Yes, though I believe VaultWiki allows all image files to be globally available to users with permissions. In the attachments manager there is a folder called images, and when selected, it lists all the images available (at least it does for me with Admin permissions on my site).

Is this also the case with vB 3.8.x, or is this a vB 4.x-only feature?

This is a vB 4.x only feature, because it requires the improved attachment manager in that version.
