      Sidebar vB-4 'Integration'

First of all - VaultWiki simply rocks!

[So, got that out of my system...]

Question: Is it possible to add sidebar(s) to Wiki pages? Many - if not all pages on my site feature a sidebar. To keep 'look 'n feel' consistent I'd like the Wiki pages to feature at least one of them, too.

Would be as huge plus for us.

      Cheers!

Are you using vbAdvanced? If so, it's possible to integrate them I've done so myself before vB4 came out.

Nope - ditched that after upgrading to vB4+CMS.

I am aware I used the vBAdvanced term 'Integration' here....

Can sidebars be added without use of vBAdvanced CMPS? If not, I may have to look for an alternative method or hold-off until this becomes a VW feature. Happy to wait knowing 'something' along these lines may be coming....

Thanks for the quick reply mate!

As far as I can tell, the only vBulletin 4 pages that can have sidebars by default are the forum home page, and CMS pages. Forums, threads, calendars, profiles, groups, etc. do not.

The Sidebar and the ability to have thread banners are very important with all pages of vb4. If not, this will prevent me from keeping it if I find another wiki option.

As I said, vBulletin 4 doesn't even have a sidebar for all pages. Unless there's an option somewhere that I'm missing, I can't really do anything about this in the wiki, or it won't work as you're hoping.

I've not even heard of thread banners. Where in vBulletin's options can I turn this on? Where in the SHOWTHREAD template is the code for it?

There is an Addon over on vbulletin.org which will display the Sidebar everywhere in the forum: EveryWhere Sidebar (ESB)
Also it's possible to turn on the Addon on custom pages. The required template-edits are in the Addon-description. I test this option on a custom page and it works. Perhaps it's possible to put the code in the article-template?
The only thing that's not possible in the moment is to specify which blocks are shown on which sides. The selected blocks are shown on all pages.

If this is an addon then it's up to the community to come up with the necessary integration. As Storyteller mentioned, it's already possible to do with a template edit.

Integration with addons is beyond the scope of VaultWiki itself. As a general rule, the only changes we make for other addons are if another addon throws an error in VaultWiki.
