Create individual Wikis by users for teams of small sizes possible?

      Hello VaultWiki,

I remember reading sometime back about VaultWiki's ability to manage/maintain wikis for multiple groups of individual users. For instance, a user can start a wiki and invite other members to join as a team to collaborate. Uninvited users are isolated from a group's wiki. Think of a small office team wanting to have a wiki (see: Wikispaces.com) where they can collaborate by creating individual pages of content, marketing efforts, progress reports, etc.

I am looking at VaultWiki Lite and realize this feature is missing. Did I miss something? I see it only configurable at the vB user group permission levels applicable globally to all users belonging to the user group. There is nothing like a user's ability to start an individual wiki and invite maybe 5-6 people to join the wiki as a team and collaborate - all without the admin's intervention/help. Not to mention, an admin should be able to create a read-only wiki that only an admin can edit while others can view it.

Please advise if the above can be accomplished in VaultWiki without admin's help.

      TIA

The feature you are talking about is our Social Group Pages feature. This is only available in the Premium package of VaultWiki.

It requires a Usergroup Mask. All members of any social groups will be given that mask, so you want them to at least have edit permissions. Even though all social groups use the same mask, only members of the same group can edit a page belonging to that group.

      The admin has to:
      • Create a forum that allows group pages.
      • Create the group mask.
      • Not all groups can have pages. So separately from the mask, give permission to create groups with pages. Maybe just give this to the Usergroups that can create regular groups.

Does the admin has to intervene every time a small group needs to start a wiki? Or is this a one time setting the admin needs to ever do? Because I did not see these settings in the Lite - not even disabled settings.

Can any user start a "private" wiki (without admin's help) and invite other members of his/her choice to join the private wiki?

Please clarify a little bit more on Social Groups...

PS: I have the exact same looking cat and his name is - Simba.

Further, I created a sample wiki and clicked Report This Page from the dropdown and it allowed me. How can I report on my own wiki? SMF does not allow it. vB modules should do better.

Is Report This custom built into VaultWiki or reused from vB code? Where do we have the Report This feature on vB forums settings?

This is a one time setting the admin has to do.

If you're not familiar with vBulletin's Social Groups, any user (with permission) can create a group and invite others to join. VaultWiki's Group Pages option simply adds to this functionality by assigning group ownership to wiki pages.

Reporting is reused from vBulletin's code. I'm not sure if you can see this, but you can report your own posts in this thread. I can report mine.
