Forums at /forums but Wiki at /wiki ?

      Hi there,

I'm running vB 3.8.4 PL2, and going to be migrating our NuWiki to VaultWiki later today. One of the often-requested features for our users is to make the Wiki accessible at domain.com/wiki instead of domain.com/forums/wiki (we use vBSEO, like VaultWiki.org does), and I noticed that VaultWiki has achieved this. Can you tell me how this is best accomplished?

I've been reading the VaultWiki mod-rewrite documentation, but it is a bit unclear whether this functionality is out-of-box or if I should prepare/plan to budget some time for tinkering. Any advice you would have would be greatly appreciated.

      Thanks!

I believe the key thing you'd need to change (this isn't something I've done, but from what I've seen since I've started using VW, this is what you'd need to do) is this:

AdminCP > Settings > Options > VaultWiki: Server Settings
      Wiki PHP File Name: showwiki

Change the file name showwiki.php to wiki.php (vBulletin default directory), and then adjust it's name in the above setting (Wiki PHP File Name: ) to wiki.

Then when using the Mod-ReWrite, it will spit out the settings for you (htaccess) that you'll need to enter to create the illusion it's in the wiki folder.

This is all on the assumption that you've got your forum in it's default location, i.e. the forum root. If it isn't, I'm not totally sure without doing some playing around myself...

Hope this helps in some way.

I'm a bit confused by your suggestion. I'm not sure how changing the .php file from showwiki.php to wiki.php would have anything to do with the location being prepended to Wiki URLs...

On Mod-ReWrite the showwiki.php (the default file without rewrite) is reduced to (on my forums as I've got it setup) www.mydomain.com/showwiki/wikiarticle. If you've changed the file name to wiki.php, and then adjust that in the settings (it won't work without) then you are replacing the previous URL with www.mydomain.com/wiki/wikiarticle, which I believe is what you are wanting?

There is one setting that is key in all of this:
AdminCP > vBulletin Options > vBulletin Options > VaultWiki: Server Settings > Wiki Base URL

You should remove the /forums from the setting in order to get the correct path.

If you then go to AdminCP > VaultWiki > Initial Wiki Setup > Mod-Rewrite Generator, it should be able to tell you which .htaccess files you need to modify.
