Your Shopping Cart - Members Area Functionality

Pegasus - perhaps a strange question but we're looking for a shopping cart - members area functionality combo like your site offers.

May I ask what you are using if it's a commercial product; not something you're coded yourself?

      Appreciate your response!

Sorry to be the bringer of bad news, but our shopping cart / members area has been custom-coded for this site. We have tried to make it extensible so that it can possibly be marketed in the future, but we do not have any plans to actually do so, and currently all our efforts are in making VaultWiki 3 stable and completing the remaining feature requests.

There are similar vBulletin modifications that we originally looked at before coding our own. I no longer have links but they were called:
      • CartPlog
      • vMembers

Perhaps a search on vbulletin.org for these would yield some results. The problem you will find is that the two products are not integrated - CartPlog is more designed to sell physical (non-download) items.

Can wait for your intervention if you decide to market it. By the looks of it I believe it would fill a nice little 'hole' in the market. I am not planning to jump on any of both: Cartplog - indeed - not integrated and vMembers seemingly unavailable for vb4.

Suffice to say: If you decide to package your solution and to put a reasonable price tag on it, I'll be onto that one like a flash.

      Keep us informed!

Saw this too but became reluctant to install after reading the thread, especially the most recent posts.

I am getting the impression the 'developer' isn't playing all that nice in one sandpit with the people who are actually developing this mod. What's posted is nothing but disturbing - I am not supporting mods created by rip-off artistis.

Thanks for the heads-up on this nonetheless Hostboard - I am still looking for a solution and am willing to pay for it.

      Cheers,

      Mondi

There are many robust ecommerce solutions:

      CRELoaded: http://www.creloaded.com/
      OSCMax: http://www.oscmax.com/
      OSCommerce: http://www.oscommerce.com/
      Zen-Cart: http://www.zen-cart.com/

I think instead of coming up with another solution that a bridge should be built betweent he two platforms. The only thing after that would be to design a template for any package so that the colorization and layout closer mimick the look of your VB site.

It is much like what I use for advertising/banner rotation system. I use OpenX (previously phpAdsNew) The software is more robust then anything that VB developers have done, easy to integrate the code in to VB templates. The only thing I am missing is a bridge so that VB is the single point of login.
