Wiki setup on new site from scratch

I've installed this on my site and really want to get it going but I was freaked out by the complexity on setting it up, or at least understanding how it all works.

I have never used wikis before (probably why I freaked out) but it looks like a great way of having lots of information available for users.

Can someone explain wiki setup in laymans terms for me? ...or better still (maybe) is there a service that helps create the index/pages & chapters etc, ready for contents to be included?

      All help appreciated, cheers

If you're having trouble creating Books and chapters, just:
      • Click an article's book tab.
      • Select "Add to New Book".
      • Add the text for the book's index page.
      • Save. The article will be added to the new index.

If a wiki link is created to a page that doesn't yet exist, it shows up with a link to create that article.

So, if you know what articles need to be created, consider using a page to list articles that need creating, and as they are created the link becomes a normal link to the article.

There are some special pages available that allow you to find what articles haven't yet been created but are 'wanted' across the wiki.
