Good job on new manual. Some more questions

Congrats on the new manual. A lot cleaner and a lot more info.

I am thinking of recommending my school to put the entire library online (about 50,000 books or close to 750,000 pages)

      Question:

Manual says: "Keeping track of a high volume of links may become server intensive. If your forum has a lot of posts, you may consider only using Auto Links in wiki forums, or disabling the feature altogether."

Would it work out also to increase the server power? Do you have any plan to reduce this "server intensive" load?

750,000. Well we've never done tests with that many articles, but increasing server power will always help.

We are always looking for new ways to reduce load, but of course we always have to find a balance between minimal load and maximal functionality.

The particular part of the manual you refer to is talking about the number of POSTS in the database, not ARTICLES. It's referring to a problem in vBulletin where it can be very slow and unstable with extremely large databases (over 1 million posts). Basically, if you already have problems with handling that many posts, don't use features that will increase the strain even more.

I suppose if you have a server solution set up that eliminates these problems, you can ignore these warnings, provided you implement the same data management strategies with VaultWiki.

      Thanks for your reply.

One word of complain from my boss: Why on earth did they use the acronym FxxK, especially for a kid related topic??

Side question: Where can I find the hack for "Posts below this point are new since your last visit."?

Also, what page was your boss viewing when the comment was made. In our site redesign, we have tried to make any content relating to that as remote as possible (from VaultWiki) so you would only find it if you were looking for it.
