problem with custom prefix forum page

      Hi to all,

we downloaded and installed your premium software package with no problem and the wiki seems to work properly.

But we haveZoints SEO plugin that is customized in order to deal also with prefixes.
Instead of having strange URLs for prefixes we have links like this:
      http://www.investireoggi.it/forum/ft...ures-va32.html
that now with the VaultWiki installed returns a blank page.

The URL not rewrited that you can reach here
      http://www.investireoggi.it/forum/fo...nt&prefixid=32
      also does not work.
So prefixes URLs don't work at all!

We suspect the problem is how our custom modified Zoints Seo Plugin interacts with your special_plugins_forumdisplay.php.

Can you have any suggestion about that? Or you think is something related only to our costum code?

      Thanks in advance.

A "blank page" is very nondescript. You will need to check your server's error logs for a specific error message.

      Hello Pegasus,
unfortunately we have no errors in the apache php_erros.log we looked at.

I know "blank page" don't tell too much, just thinking if this could be a problem with one of your script, or it's totally related with our custom plugin.

VaultWiki does not rewrite forumdisplay URLs. And I can't imagine that any of the plugins that are there would throw a blank page without also generating an error.

Without an error message, it sounds like an htaccess problem to me or that Zoints isn't catching your custom URL.

I'm not telling that Vault rewrites forumdisplay, but it seems to interphere.
If I disable Vault, anything goes well like before, as you can see here:
      http://www.investireoggi.it/forum/ft...ures-va32.html

So there is something in Vault files that interpheres.

Pegasus, I am using the premium version of Vault. I purchased it even if I was afraid of having problems in my case.
I kindly ask you a support.
Vault interpheres with my system, to be more precise with Zoints I believe, and I'm not able to understand why and how. It happens only for some pages, as I previously showed with the last links.
I have a good programmer, we looked at error logs but we did not find anything.
I am also available for a skype chat (bogdan.bultrini) if you prefer, it would be quicker to find a solution I think and hope.
Please Pegasus, I need your support.

We were finally able to deal with the problem, and we (maybe) solved it. I'll ask my programmer to explain how he did it.

But something is still not working.
      At the page http://www.investireoggi.it/forum/ca...e-vt44278.html
the Contents box is not working properly. If you click on any of the link in that box you will see.

Any idea of which is the problem? Thanks.

This occurs because your forum has a BASE HREF to /forum. Did you add this manually, or is this something Zoints inserts on every page?

In the Admin panel of vBulletin,
      Options,
Site Name / URL / Contact Details
      here I have Forum URL = http://www.investireoggi.it/forum

      is this maybe?

I see also forums like http://www.vbulletin.com with a <base tag, just like mine. And they do not seem to use Zoints or vBseo

I agree with you that it is probably a common one, but it's a template edit nonetheless and not in a default vBulletin install. If your Site Name / URL / Contact Details -> Forum URL is set to the same thing, there is no need to use this edit as it's redundant, except on certain pages where you have a different URL structure. I asked if Zoints adds the tag automatically, because removing the template edit could mess up your stylesheets and scripts on the SEO'd pages if it doesn't.

There is currently no way to get around this issue unless the BASE tag is added by VaultWiki. Until a fix is created, you can do this by configuring your .htaccess for and activating Simple Wiki URLs.

      Thanks, now it works.

      One more thing:
the urls are quite strange, and different from the one that I can see in your site.
      Starting from here http://www.investireoggi.it/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=44
      URLs are like this
      http://www.investireoggi.it/forum/fi...concetti+base?

where /finanzapedia/ is our WIKI_FILENAME. is possible to clean this url a little bit more and remove "+" and other unwanted characters ("%2C", for ex...)?

it works, but it's not so beautiful.

      Any idea?

The cleaner URLs are still undergoing testing and will not possible until VaultWiki 2.5, the next major feature release.

Currently, all you can do is remove the /forum from wiki URLs by changing the wiki base URL in VaultWiki: Server Settings. If you do this, make sure your .htaccess reflects this change.

      EDIT: release date moved up
