Creating a Table of Contents

What is the best way to create a Table of Contents for all of the pages that we want to put in our "wiki"?

A "book" will automatically list all the pages in it. You have to create its pages in another forum first --

Create an article in forum "Book". Call the article "Book A"
Create an article in forum "Default". Call the article "Chapter 1"
After saving "Chapter 1", click the tab labelled "Book". Select "Book A" and save.

For creating tables of contents of other pages in non-Books, there is also a category method.
Install VaultWiki Categories.
Create an article in forum "Default". Call the article "Page 1". At the end of the article's message text, type [category]Category A[/category]
Save. At the bottom of the article, click the link to "Category A".
Edit this article to add some content.

There is one other method. The manual method --
Create an article in the "Default" forum. Call the article "Article A".
Create another article in the "Default" forum. Call the article "Article B". In "Article B"s message text, use [wiki]Article A[/wiki]

Please note that any aforementioned BB-Code tags may be different depending on the Namespace Manager settings you have chosen.

I've done this. How do I change the order of the Chapters, Sections, and Pages in the book?

I may have to switch to this method, as I will feel silly having an entire forum with just one article in it.

If you haven't found it by now, you can re-order the chapters by clicking the "Edit" tab while viewing the Book Index ("Book A" above).

Is there a way to make a Category, a child of a Chapter?

I created a Chapter (Gear), with a Category

Code:

[noparse][category]Body Armor[/category][/noparse]

Then clicked on that page to create an article called Body Armor
But then I want it to be part of the navigation in this book. I added it to my book, but is a peer Chapter, not a child Category to my Gear Chapter.

What should I do to accomplish this sub Category navigation?

You cannot make books children of other books or chapters children of other chapters. You CAN make categories children of categories by using the category tags in other categories. You would have needed Chapter (Gear) to be a category as well, which I don't think you did originally.
