      Navigation questions

      #1
When I use a normal forum set to "act as forum=no" to make it a category, and then use "Display in Forum" in the forum editor to put the wiki namespaces in that forum category, the namespaces are not listed when you click the container category, only when viewing the category from forumhome, that's a bit confusing for users.

Anyway to fix that? Maybe I'm doing something wrong?

      #2
Is there anyway to make the breadcrumbs work like other non-wiki forums?

For example, if I click on "templates" namespace, the only breadcrumb trail leads back to forumhome and not whatever forum you entered in "Display in Forum" - I can kinda see why it doesn't, since that would lead the user back to an empty category because of #1 but it's confusing and makes navigation confusing.

      #1 is a bug.

#2 there are a number of reasons for, but mainly that it can end up becoming just as confusing.

In all reality, you should be "Display[ing] in Forum" in a Category at Forum Home level anyway, where the same information would be displayed. I can only see a scenario where it would become "confusing" if you selected a forum below this level. In this case the breadcrumbs could tend to get especially long.

And now the confusing part. While it may be displayed in the forum, it would be physically located somewhere else (which could also be displayed if your Display Order was not 0). In this case it could become ambiguous as to which version of the breadcrumbs to use, because vBulletin has not implemented any way of tracking this information beyond the scope of an individual page. While this tracking could be added, the amount of bloat it would add has been deemed too much to make it worthwhile.
