How does one search for wiki pages? And what's the best way to have a search box in a wikipage?

Is it possible to have a wikipage that looks like wikipedia.org?

Also how can one list categories ala wikipedia style? === Never mind on this, I saw a thread about this very same topic

And may I suggest an "example by pictures" so it will be clear to newbie

Currently it is only possible to search for articles via vBulletin's default search form, since they are treated as forum threads.

If you are referring to a page that looks like the index on Wikipedia with just the logo and the search box, this is not currently possible without using HTML in your posts and creating such an article by writing your own form code.

In the address bar, you can type in the URL of showwiki.php?title=Article+That+Does+Not+Exist and it will take you to the empty article. If it does exist, well that will work too.

maybe something to go in the Templates namespace where we could add something like [ template ]Search [ /template] to our pages which would bring up a search box would be nice....

just an idea.

In theory what you describe could be done, if you allowed HTML in the Template namespace and you used the template code from the search page in the next build.
