      CSS questions

      I had a lovely customised CSS that worked great on my site until I uploaded RC3 and forgot to back it up first...overwriting my previous customisations....so I have to start again.

      I've magaged to get my tabs back to how they were (or close to) but my problem now is that I wish to change the colour of the background in each article to white instead of the grey which it currently is.

      Could anyone tell me which css tag it is to change this?
      I've tested different tags and managed to get certain parts white but the main frame around the article is still grey, so I get a grey box with white content boxes in the middle.....

      I had to make one slight customisation in the template for vault_article_postbit and that was to change the first cellpadding="0" to cellpadding="6" so that the article text wasn't right up against the borders of the table.

      **Sympathy**

      Have you tried a) just viewing the source to see what class the relevant div is given and b) Firefox Web Developer toolbar? It will display all the CSS that applies to any given element on a page.

      I believe the CSS selector you are looking for is the first one in the file, .vw-content. Also, thanks Hilary for pointing out the Web Developer toolbar. I had been getting very annoyed with this other "CSS Viewer" I had installed that I could never read because it partially adopted the CSS of the page and made terrible unreadable clashes.

      We will be adding a Wiki Style Manager to the admin tools for the next major build.

      Surely it would make sense to make the wiki fit in with the vbulletin schemes wherever possible? My site has numerous schemes available for selection which have pretty diverse colours, it's going to be impossible to try and find one wikis scheme that will fit in with all the board themes.

      This makes sense to me also, if the wiki followed the same colour scheme as the current loaded template it would make things so much easier, then if you changed something in your main template like the background colour it would also change on the wiki background as well....

      Just use custom colours for parts that are not in the custom vbulletin system.

      One thing I've noticed though is that on the 'showthread.php' page across my site and in all styles a white border is now added around the navbits bar, only on the showthread.php page though, and it's annoying

      Any ideas as to cause?

      I'm not getting the white border like you said, but I am not getting something wrong happening when I click on article tabs.

      If i load an article, the page displays fine, if i click on Discussion (or any of the other tabs), the tables are slightly smaller and the page doesn't look quite right.

      Edit: Just noticed that this only appears in IE and not firefox. although the history tab in firefox is a right mess with all the text going down diagonal, in IE it appears fine.

      Definetly some cross browser problems here.

      In vault/special.css, find:
      Code:
      div.tborder { background-color: #fff; }
      Replace with:
      Code:
      .content_block div.tborder { background-color: #fff; }

      For fixing the history going diagonal, the following is added to vault/special.css.

      Find:
      Code:
      .hist_reason {
      Add before:
      Code:
      #hist_list { margin-bottom: .3em; }
      #hist_list li { clear: both; }
      The strange white box and extra borders in IE look like a JS issue. I'll check that out.

      thanks. The history page in Firefox looks great now, much better than in IE infact, in IE the lines seem to have a blank space between them, not as compact or tidy as firefox.
