      VaultWiki Pre-Defined BB-Codes

The first thing I should explain is that in VaultWiki BB-Codes do not necessarily parse in the order they appear in the wiki.

This is essentially the order things happen:
      1. [noparse], [code], [php], [html]
      2. [redirect]
      3. [template] (no option version)
      4. all other BB-Codes

For all wiki codes, see the List of Wiki Codes.
For tables, see the brief tutorial here: http://www.vaultwiki.org/showpost.ph...7&postcount=11

Could you give a full example of how you write the table, tr and td properties after the "="? Thanks.

Like NuWiki, can you disable the TABLE tag if you're already using another TABLE bbcode that is more advanced?

I don't know of any other table codes. If it uses the same syntax, there would be no problem because it will override it in the tag list.

Many sites use the vBulletin standard BBcode table, released by the folks over at vBulletin Germany. It is powerful, but controllable to prevent formatting catastrophes.

Yes, I have looked at this and we are working on something similar for the stable release.

Did you update the way tables are used? or are they just the same?

The tables are radically different. I will ask NickyPhils to write a tutorial on this. Basically the syntax is exactly the same as MediaWiki tables except that the tags are [table]...[/table] rather than {| ... |}.

Yes, please, I'd like some instructions on the new table tags soonish: it looks as though the old ones no longer work, so tables created previously are broken...?

Tables, you know, like in Wikipedia.

      Here's a simple example:

      Code:
      [table] class="tborder"
      |-
      ! header 1 !! header 2 !! header 3
      |-
      | row 1, cell 1
      | row 1, cell 2
      | row 1, cell 3
      |-
      | row 2, cell 1
      | row 2, cell 2
      | row 2, cell 3
      [/table]
Here's one with stuff filled in from the article Meeting 13.

      Code:
      [TABLE]border="1"
      ! Propositor !! Bill !! Result
      |-
      |rowspan="5"|Nick Phillips
      |No maximum of members.
      |Accepted.
      |-
      |No obstacle course for membership.
      |Accepted. Obstacle course for gym leaders.
      |-
      |No right to revoke gym badges.
      |Accepted. Unless there is a good reason.
      |-
      |The president has to pass a test.
      |Accepted.
      |-
      |The president has to have attended meetings.
      |Rejected.
      |-
      |Clare Phillips
      |There must be funerals for Pokemon
      |-
      [/TABLE]

Argh - I'm not having any luck with this. (Can I just say I really wish you'd left the original tags intact so that existing formatting wasn't broken?)

I want a simple table with just one row and two cells, and a bulleted list in each cell.
      HTML Code:
      <table><tr><td>(bullets)</td><td>(bullets)</td></tr></table>
Is that still possible? Or can you no longer have a hard return inside a table row?

      Code:
      [noparse][table]
      | row 1, cell 1
      | row 1, cell 2
      [/table][/noparse]
There should be no problem with hard returns.

No - doesn't work here. I've tried two variants:
      Code:
      [noparse]
      [table]
      |
      [LIST][*]list[*]of[*]links[/LIST]
      |
      [LIST][*]second[*]list[*]of[*]links[/LIST]
      [/table][/noparse]
-that gives one long column, with the '|' showing in the middle.

      And
      Code:
      [noparse]
      [table]
      | first link
      second link
      third link
      | link meant to be in second column
      link
      link
      [/table]
      [/noparse]
That gave me a continuous line of links - ie the hard returns weren't preserved. And they were still all in one column.

It's as if the old codes have been erased, but there's nothing to replace them. Is there some way I could have achieved that effect by messing up the upload?

Ah, apparently you need to start a new row with |-
I rarely use this code, so it would be better to look at NickyPhils' examples.
