So I've installed the Lite version on Xenforo 1.5 to test and appraise.
So far we've had to make two manual PHP edits, potentially a third and some functionality still isn't working.
Is this just because the Lite version is behind on patches?
I'm discussing this with my admin team and struggling to justify the cost (as significant as Xenforo itself) against the option of losing single sign on and installing a much more mature, but free Wiki alternative.
Help me out here! :)

The Lite version is several versions behind on bug fixes and patches.
The lifetime cost, which I believe you are referring to, is only paid once. You do not have renewal fees every month/year. If a lifetime subscription is too costly for you, you can always opt for a monthly subscription. You can potentially only renew/update as needed (for example, every 3 months, would cost you $40 over a year); however, like you have found with the Lite version, you may fall behind on some fixes that are important to you.
