How do I turn a wiki article into a redirect?

I have a number of articles that I want to change into a redirect. IIRC then it used to be possible to remove the text and replace it with redirect bbcode. But this doesn't seem to work anymore or there was a need for it to be removed in the past. Whats the best way to approach this?

What you describe hasn't been the process since VaultWiki 3 (before 2012).

You should either delete the article, or rename it or make it an anonymous page if you still want the history for archival purposes.

Then create the synonym directly on the appropriate target using that content's Options > Manage synonyms.
