VaultWiki for IP.Board
It is no surprise that many vBulletin license-holders have been migrating to other competing software. There has been a significant brain-drain out of vB.org, and many of the top designers have publicly moved to IP.Board. A considerable number of Big Boards are looking at ditching the vBulletin platform altogether, especially in light of the vBulletin 4 issues.
VaultWiki would definitely find customers if it were to code an add-on that were compatible with IP.Board. Any thought about supporting this alternative forum system?
-
I think this would spread development time over multiple forum platforms instead of investing all development time in Vaultwiki for vbulletin.
-
At the current time, this is not something we're considering doing.
-
Seems like it would be a total rewrite so seems unlikely to be worth it.
-
That's understandable. :)
-
Since the previous posts, we've done the total rewrite in VaultWiki 4. Now it's just a question of extending the appropriate classes for IP.Board or IPS in general and making another version of the style, then marketing VaultWiki to the IPS community.
We're in the process of trying to put a fundraiser together so we can make this transition smoothly: http://prefundia.com/projects/view/v...ces-ips4/2933/
The description is currently in flux, but it should give you an idea of the plan.

I hope for vw4 soon for ips ;)
This are Great news - a big missing product in the world of IPS ;)

For anyone subscribed to this thread who hasn't already learned, the fundraiser started earlier this month. You can check it out here: http://ipboard.wiki

Hi,
is there still any work on vaultwiki for IPS or is this project dead ?
Thx
-
The project is not dead, but we are not making it a priority at this time. There was insignificant support within the IPS community in existing discussions we looked at and new discussions we started there last fall. I'm not aware of anyone from the IPS community that came out to support the IndieGogo project in any way.

Hey @Pegasus, is this still going on?
-
Since our supported vBulletin versions are EOL, we will be prioritizing platforms that those forum owners have moved onto, which includes IPS. We are in an RC right now, but a new round of heavy development is due to start soon.
